Extracellular matrix mineralization is important for mechanical stability of the skeleton and for
calcium and phosphate storage. Professional mineral-disposing cell types are hypertrophic
chondrocytes, odontoblasts, ameloblasts and osteoblasts. Since ectopic mineralization
