Insulinomata are tumours of pancreatic origin which are characterized by an inappropriate
secretion of insulin and which present clinically with hypoglycemia. It is a clinical term and is
inadequate for precise pathological classification but usually includes three main types:(1)
the solitary adenoma;(2) diffuse adenomatosisand hyperplasia;(3) islet cell carcinoma.
