The formation of the hyaluronan-rich cumulus extracellular matrix is crucial for female fertility
and accompanied by a transesterification reaction in which the heavy chains (HCs) of inter-α-
trypsin inhibitor (IαI)-related proteins are covalently transferred to hyaluronan. Tumor
