Intracellular filamentous aggregates comprised of α-synuclein such as Lewy bodies and
glial cytoplasmic inclusions are the defining hallmarks of a subset of neurodegenerative
diseases including Parkinson's disease, dementia with Lewy bodies, and multiple system
