Molecular classification and molecular genetics of human lung cancers

Recent advances in the molecular classification of lung carcinomas and the identification of
causative genetic alterations will likely lead to improvements in the diagnosis and treatment
of patients with lung cancer. It is now possible to identify gene expression profiles that
associate with patient outcome in lung carcinomas, in particular adenocarcinoma.
Furthermore, patient survival has been shown to correlate with lung cancer oligonucleotide
