Individuals with sickle-cell disease (SCD) and transgenic sickle mice expressing human βS
globin exhibit enhanced reactive oxygen species (ROS) production, vascular inflammation,
and episodic vasoocclusion. We hypothesize that reduction of ROS will reduce endothelial-
