The major histocompatibility complex (MHC) molecules play a crucial role in the selection of
the T cell repertoire and in initiating immune responses by presenting antigen to CD4+ and
CD8+ T cells. The positively selected CD4+ and CDS+ T cells in the context of MHC class II
and class I, respectively, constitute the immunocompetent T cell repertoire, while the
