Pemphigus and bullous pemphigoid are distinct autoimmune blistering diseases that are
characterised by the presence of autoantibodies directed against specific adhesion
molecules of the skin and mucous membranes. The comparison and contrast of molecular
mechanism of blister formation of these two diseases provide a rational diagnostic and
therapeutic approach to affected patients.
