The enzyme 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A reductase (HMG-CoA reductase) is
subject to multivalent feedback suppression mediated by sterols and non-sterol substances
derived from mevalonate, the product of the enzyme. To dissect the mechanism for this
