The regulation of arachidonic acid conversion by the 5-lipoxygenase and the
cyclooxygenase pathways in mouse peritoneal macrophages has been studied using
particulate and soluble agonists. Particulate agonists, zymosan and latex, stimulated the
production of cyclooxygenase metabolites as well as the 5-lipoxygenase product,
