We have examined the requirements for the export of leukotriene C 4 (LTC 4) from cultured
human eosinophils. To define saturability and kinetics of LTC 4 export, eosinophils were
interacted with leukotriene A 4 (LTA 4) at 37° C, and the methanolic extracts of the cell-
associated and extracellular compartments were then analyzed for LTC 4 content by reverse
phase high performance liquid chromatography with on-line monitoring of absorbance at
