Materials and Methods Materials. DNA modifying and restriction enzymes were obtained
from New England Biolabs, Beverly, MA, or Bethesda Research Laboratories, Gaithersburg,

Animals. Adult Sprague-Dawley albinorats were obtained from Charles River Laboratories, Portage, ME. They were allowed rodent laboratory chow 5001 (Ralston Purina, St. Louis, MO) and water ad libitum. Lighting was provided from 7 am to 7 pm Rats were killed by exsanguination after anesthesia with sodium pentobarbital (~ 60 mg/kg, intra-peritoneal).
