Dendritic cells (DC) are professional antigen-presenting cells which stimulate strong
proliferative and cytolytic T cell responses. Stimulation of CD40 on dendritic cells by its
ligands and anti-CD40 antibodies induces maturation and enhances DC stimulatory ability.
