Leptin, secreted by adipocytes, regulates satiety and energy expenditure. Several forms of
leptin receptors produced by alternative mRNA splicing are found in many tissues, including
the hypothalamus, liver, lung, kidney, hematopoietic cells, and gonads, suggesting that
