Hypoxia induces vasoconstriction, in part, by down-regulating endothelial cell nitric oxide
synthase (ecNOS) expression. Previous studies indicate that 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-
coenzyme A (HMG CoA) reductase inhibitors improve endothelium-dependent relaxation by
