Fibrosis of the liver has been reported to be associated with malnutrition, based on
qualitative histological and histochemical approaches. The aim of this study was to
quantitatively examine the effect of perinatal food-restriction on the expression of
extracellular matrix components of the liver, using rats fed 50% of ad libitum intake,
