Egr-1 expression in aortae of LDLR-deficient mice fed a high-cholesterol diet. LDLR–/– mice were fed a diet containing 1.25% cholesterol for up to 20 weeks before sacrifice. At sacrifice, the mice were perfusion fixed, and the aortae were sectioned in OCT. Sections were immunostained for Egr-1, and counterstained with hematoxylin, as in Figure 4.
