Peritubular macrophages, but not T cells or glomerular macrophages, are reduced in MCP-1(–/–) mice given nephrotoxic serum. Intrarenal macrophages and T cells were assessed in MCP-1(+/+) and MCP-1(–/–) mice 7 days after receiving nephrotoxic serum. Macrophages were detected with F4/80 antibody (interstitium, periglomerular) and MOMA-2 antibody (intraglomerular). Interstitial and glomerular T cells were detected using CD4 and CD8 antibodies (scoring: periglomerular cells/glomerular cross-section (gcs); peritubular cells/tubule cross-section; intraglomerular cells/gcs). Mean ± SD, n = 6, *P < 0.005 compared with MCP-1(+/+).
