Effects of HGF on lipid mobilization in primary cultured hepatocytes prepared from rat with fatty liver caused by ingestion of ethanol diets. Changes in hepatocellular triglyceride contents (a), accumulation of lipid droplets (b), and triglyceride levels in secreted VLDL fractions (c) are shown. Hepatocytes prepared from rat treated with ethanol diets for 5 weeks were cultured for 48 h in the absence or presence of 20 ng/ml HGF.
