Right ventricular systolic pressure (RVSP) in wild-type (+/+) and eNOS (–/–) mice raised at an altitude of 5280 ft breathing room air or room air with 25 ppm of nitric oxide demonstrating a small, nonsignificant decrease in right ventricular pressures in wild-type mice (P = ns, n = 3) but reversal of the pulmonary hypertension in eNOS–/– mice (*P = 0.003, n = 3).
