Insulin resistance in male and female MORE-PGKO mice.

n = 8–11 per group. ITT (A and D), fed plasma insulin levels (B and E), and representative H&E histology (C and F) in male (AC) and female (DF) MORE-PGKO and LC mice. Male MORE-PGKO mice showed significantly impaired insulin sensitivity and significantly higher insulin levels, and enlarged islets in male MORE-PGKO mice were apparent (indicated by asterisks). Results in females were similar to those in males, except plasma insulin levels were higher in female MORE-PGKO mice. *P < 0.05, **P < 0.01, ***P < 0.001 versus LC, Bonferroni post-test.
