Cardiac fibrosis is a mechanism behind contractile dysfunction in heart failure.

An improvement in cardiac fibrosis is observed in the male HCM mice consuming a casein diet. n = 5 in each group. Increased collagen deposition in the male HCM mice on the soy diet may contribute to the contractile dysfunction observed by echocardiogram.
