LacZ mRNA accumulates to higher levels in aortas of TOPGAL+;CMV-Msx2Tg+ than in those of TOPGAL+ mice. Aortic LacZ mRNA accumulation (fluorescence RT-PCR) was compared in doubly transgenic mice (TOPGAL+;CMV-Msx2Tg+) and TOGPAL+ controls. TOPGAL+Msx2+ mice accumulate higher levels of aortic LacZ reporter mRNA as compared with TOPGAL+ control littermates (P = 0.04; n = 5–7 per group), indicating augmented aortic Wnt and TCF/LEF signaling in response to the Msx2 transgene. *P = 0.04.
