Vasoconstrictor effects of Ang II (1 μM) or [Pro¹¹,DAla¹²]Ang I (1 μM) in mesenteric artery preparations from 7-week-old MC^+/+ (left panel) and Kit^w/Kit^w-v mice (right panel). Results are expressed as the peak change in vessel diameter (μm), where a decrease in vessel diameter represents vasoconstriction. Each mesenteric artery preparation was subjected to Ang II or [Pro¹¹,DAla¹²]Ang I only once to preclude the effects of tachyphylaxis. Values are mean ± SEM, and n = 5–6 in each group. Comparison between the [Pro¹¹,DAla¹²]Ang I responses in mesenteric artery preparations from MC^+/+ mice in the presence or absence of 10 μM losartan was made using the unpaired Student’s t test; *P < 0.001. P < 0.001 for inter-genotype comparisons.
