Expression of β-gal reporter gene activity in popliteal LN CD4+ T cells. Popliteal LN cells from SOCS-1–/– IFN-γ–/– mice were isolated on day 7 of acute arthritis and incubated with FDG for 4 hours. Cells were then stained for expression of CD4 and the activation markers CD25, CD44, and CD69. CD4+ T cells were gated according to the absence (R1) or presence (R2) of activation markers, and β-gal activity of the gated populations of cells is shown.
